Our Co Working Hub

Who can offer me a place to work and a safe, secure place for my child?

The team at Mara have created a harmonious and nurturing ‘Home from Home’ workspace where people can use a Hot Desk in the Co Working Hub to focus on their work, surrounding themselves with others from the local community.

What is a collaborative working hub?

A work hub is a flexible workspace offering an ‘office when needed’ service for modern micro businesses and mobile workers, including those of you who work from home. Shared facilities include bookable ‘hot’ desks, formal and informal meeting spaces, high speed broadband and costly or space-hungry professional equipment and more!

How it works

Mara is a fully equipped Co Working Hub with WI-FI, a stationery resource bank, free refreshments, access to a printer and scanner and a separate kitchen. For a £5 additional charge, the on-site Chef will prepare you a delicious lunch (wholesome Homemade Soup, Sandwich and a beverage).

  • Printer copier
  • Fiber Optic WI-FI
  • Ethical coffee and drinks
  • Workshops
  • Networking and mentoring
  • Kitchen
  • Projector and screen
  • Whiteboard
  • Sandwich club
  • Event space

Our Location

Set in the heart of Totteridge and Whetstone, just off Whetstone High Road, with free onsite parking, just several minutes’ walk from Totteridge and Whetstone tube station and 10 minutes from Oakleigh Park overground, and also served well by plenty of bus routes. Opposite is Brook Farm Open Space where you can take a walk in nature if you need a break from your screen.

The brand-new purpose-built building is stunning and ambient with lots of natural light from the huge windows on the First Floor, the furniture is repurposed and environmentally conscious. You can choose a formal desk in a semi private pod, or to share a Covid Safe community desk. If you prefer a more relaxed approach, they also have comfortable sofas for you to lounge on with your laptop.

Book your space

Open 7 days per week from 8.30am – 5.30pm, prices range from £10 for a half day in the Co Working Hub to £15 for a full day.

If you need to hold a meeting, Mara has a private Meeting Room that seats six people comfortably. This room lends itself well to a private office and can be hired in its entirety from £15 per hour to £50 for a full day

An excellent, modern, open-plan office with multiple desk spaces to suit your preference, working style and mood. With various styles of shared and single desks available to use, you have the opportunity to network or focus on that approaching deadline. For that little bit of extra headspace, there are also a number of high-back, multiple-occupancy, comfortable privacy booths. The office has hand hygiene facilities, ventilation via open windows and supports social distancing. The large windows and greenspace view at the rear will help to reinvigorate you as you work and support you during those reflective moments. The kitchen is great to prepare your morning dose of caffeine or simply to warm up your packed lunch. It is stocked with tea, coffee and all amenities including a kettle, microwave, cutlery and crockery. Wi-Fi is included with fast, consistent internet access, and there are multiple mains and USB charging ports dotted around the room for when your laptop or mobile device is running low on juice. Unlike many offices, the mobile signal is also decent. A spacious meeting / event room is also available if required, along with toilet facilities. For parents or guardians of children attending nursery on-site, this is a great hybrid office away from the office, where you can rest assured that your child is downstairs should they need you. A must-have for first-timers during settling days, when you both may be experiencing a degree of separation anxiety! Overall, I'd recommend this office space for those who are unable, or prefer not to work from home. Or those with the flexibility of remote working who would prefer a friendly, modern and professional office environment in which to work and network. Miriam is excellent, very professional and strives to ensure you have everything you need, so all you have to do is remember your laptop and enjoy your day.

After looking at several options for childcare for my little girl and not really feeling happy with any of them, I found the Mara Nursery and co-working space. I was immediately impressed with the staff and how attentive they were to the children's needs. The staff are so friendly and clearly enjoy their jobs which made me feel happy and comfortable leaving my little one with them. The nursery is clean and the children also have an outdoor space which they use regularly. I also love the co-working space, it's awesome to have such a lovely light space to work where I can concentrate away from all the jobs I need to do at home.

"The Mara working hub is a fantastic facility. The bright, spacious room gives you the choice of setting-up at the communal working area or an individual desk. The high back meeting pods, and separate meeting room were set up beautifully, although I didn’t have a need to use them on my visit. There’s a clean and well equipped kitchen area for tea and coffee making. Even though my little one was downstairs, there was no distraction from working. It’s incredibly convenient, excellent value for money and I look forward to continuing to use the space in the future."

"My little boy started Mara nursery when he was approx 18 months old. Even though he was my second child I was still full of anticipation but we were met with so much warmth from the team and after just a few days he was running in! Once I’ve done drop off I head straight upstairs to the working hub to get on with my day job. The space is clean and bright and refreshing to be working somewhere else other than home. Ultimately though my boy walks out smiling and that makes me happy"
