The main symptoms of Covid-19 are:
- a high temperature, this means if you are hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour or three or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually cough this may be worse than usual)
- a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste -This means that you have noticed that you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.
If a child or a member of their family develops these symptoms whilst at home or nursery, we advise that the child must not be permitted into the setting for at least seven days or until a negative test result is provided.
If a family member or child tests positive they must stay at home and isolate for at least 10 days and can return once a negative test result is provided.
All parents and families shall be notified if there is a positive result of Covid-19.
If a child, member of family or staff member tests positive to Covid-19 this may mean closure of the nursery for two weeks.
To maintain social distancing Mara Nursery have introduced a no entry system. This means that parents, families, and external agencies will not be able to enter your child’s Nursery room until the risk to health has passed. This will be monitored, with restrictions being loosened or tightened depending on the most current government guidelines. Upon collection or drop off of children please wait for a member of staff to greet you at the collection point.
Please use the social distancing markers to ensure that safe distances between families is maintained.
